360-Degree-Real-Time-Video-by-Doo-Technologies

Technical Data

DISPLAY

The displayed video image can be viewed in a single window which is 360 degree navigable or multiple windows on one screen or more giving an independent North, South, East and West display, each with independent navigable views.

The video data can also be recorded in real-time without compression.

PLATFORM

The algorithms can be computed on multiple platforms FPGA+DSP+ARM, Intel platform, or GPU add-on card). Image fusion algorithms can also be processed in real-time for both day and night streams.

PLAYER

The player application can be implemented as a plug-in or as standalone software. It can run on the processing unit or on a dedicated computer.

In the case were the Player Unit is located independently to the hardware, delay will appear between capture and display. This is due to the increased data transmission chain and the multiple operations required. To minimise latency it is recommend to run the player application on the same PC as the processing unit.

RESOLUTION

Resolution has been a prime focal point throughout the development of the software this being a key requirement throughout the defence industry.

The software allows for a record and display resolution of up to 16 mega pixels. Improved resolution and efficiency can be achieved by the number of sensors without altering the original image data. Image Correction, Correlation are performed in real time.

SENSOR

Day vision with eight sensors in 640x480 at 25fps (24 bits).
Night vision with eight sensors in 640x480 at 25 fps (8 bits).

There are no limitations to the number of sensors used, the only limitation remains in the band width maximum that can manage the buses. The sensors can be connected to the processing unit using USB 2.0, Firewire and Gigabit connection. Firewire 800 or 1600 is recommended to minimise latency.

TRANSMISSION

The signal can be transmitted with any existing radio system such as Wi-Fi, satellite, depending on the systems integration. The signal is a standard video stream designed to be incomprehensible if intercepted by a non authorised system.
